After obtaining his Atheneum diploma, Peter first worked in the transport world for about three years before starting a study at Rotterdam Mainport Institute of Applied Sciences (STC Group) to become a Maritime Officer. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree (B MO), he joined Jo Tankers as a maritime officer sailing on highly advanced seagoing tankers for the transport of chemical products.
In 2007, Peter entered employment as a maritime surveyor with Marinco Survey, Touw en Binnendijk Bree, where he was trained over a period of five years to become a fully-fledged expert in condition surveys and damage assessments.
In 2012, he joined Verschoor & Bras as a maritime surveyor. After the company acquired Marinco Survey BV in 2013, Peters extensive knowledge of condition surveys turned out to be very valuable.
In late 2020, Peter was asked by the Verenigde Tankrederij, the largest bunker shipping company in the Netherlands, to come and work as a superintendent. In this position, he was not only responsible for fuel oil, lube oil and chemical ships, but also involved in the new construction of 20 LNG-propelled inland chemical ships. He enjoyed doing this work, but the surveying business continued to attract him.
Peter has been employed by Verschoor & Bras again since 13 March 2023.
